by Second 2 Nature Taxidermy Supply with Steve German 1 ¾ Hrs
Steve starts with a breast incision and skins the duck, including inverting the legs and wings. A throat incision is made to skin out and clean the skull. A wire wheel is used to clean the skull, wing/leg bones and degrease the skin. The skin is washed in soapy water, then coleman fuel and tumbled. He makes a wrap body from excelsior and twine. The duck is mounted, sewn up and eyes set. After attaching the duck to a piece of driftwood, Steve works on positioning. Painting of the bill and feet finishes this beautiful mount.
