SKINNING, FLESHING & MOUNTING AN ATLANTIC EIDER DRAKE STANDING
by Second 2 Nature Taxidermy Supply with Tab Hinton 1 ½ Hrs
Tab starts with a breast incision and skins the duck. A wire wheel is used to clean and degrease the skin. The skin is washed in soapy water, then tumbled. Dry Preservative is applied and the duck is mounted, sewn up and eyes set. After attaching the duck to a piece of driftwood, Tab works on positioning and grooming. He then finishes this mount with the painting of the bill and feet.
