SKINNING, FLESHING & MOUNTING A MALLARD DRAKE - FULL FLIGHT
by Second 2 Nature Taxidermy Supply with Tab Hinton 1 Hr
Tab starts with a breast incision and skins the duck. A wire wheel is used to clean and degrease the skin. The skin is washed in soapy water, then tumbled. Dry Preservative is applied and the eyes are rough set. The duck is mounted on a urethane form and sewn up. After attaching the duck to a piece of wood, Tab works on positioning and grooming. He then finishes this mount with the painting of the bill and feet.
